Argyle Acres Farm Camp

Utah’s First Regenerative Farm Camp!

The goal of Argyle Acre’s Farm Camp

is to provide time for children to connect with nature and learn about the relationship between regenerative agriculture and the environment through developmentally appropriate experiential learning activities. Each Day, Monday through Thursday, Children are immersed in the daily rhythms of the farm by helping with farm chores, caring for animals, investigating insects, and interacting with the natural world. There are plenty of opportunities to learn about microbes, animal adaptations, life cycles, and plant ecology. We will explore the question, “how did that get to my plate?” and get to know our farmers. We will leave plenty of room to let children’s natural curiosity guide learning.

Meet our Camp Director’s!

Amanda Argyle - Argyle Acres Owner

Amanda, recognized a growing disconnect between young people and the natural world so she founded and operates Argyle Acre’s Farm Camps. With a deep-seated passion for sustainable agriculture and education, Amanda established the farm to not only cultivate nutrient-dense, regeneratively grown foods but also to bridge the gap between children and the origins of their food. Through these camps and its educational initiatives, Amanda aims to cultivate a generation that is not only knowledgeable about sustainable farming practices but also appreciative of the environment and the journey of food from farm to table.

Miriam Eriksson - Farm Camp Advisor

Has taught children in various capacities for over 20 years. A passion for connecting children to nature and exploring the incredible ecosystems in Utah began while teaching for The University of Utah at Red Butte Garden. In the foothills of the Wasatch Mountain’s she took K-6 graders on hiking field trips, taught summer camps, helped plan festivals, and trained volunteers. Getting the opportunity to visit every district in the state with the Grow Lab Outreach Program, offered a unique perspective. Miriam has also worked for Wasatch Community Garden, Natural History Museum of Utah, and is a life time member of The Red Acre Center.

Sue - Farm Camp Leader

Sue is a wife and homeschool mom of two who is passionate about helping children connect with the natural world. she served two years in the Peace Corps running a 4-H club and spent 11 years as a public school teacher, where she also helped lead her district's outdoor wilderness program. Her family spends a lot of time outside hiking, camping, and cultivating a deep connection to nature. At home they prioritize organic food and healthy cooking, and she loves helping children discover where their food comes from and how caring for the land supports healthy people and ecosystems.

“The best education does not happen at a desk, but rather engaged in everyday living - hands on exploring, in active relationship with life.”
